Through Captain Kdwiu'fl over-indulg-ence the trucks on tbe Hastings racecourse are in rather a I) id way, and trainers have to battle their horsea along over the sand gallop through mud and water, which 1b uob ut all a very pleasant task Ibe first to woik this morning was Blarney, who strode aloug over two circnits at about thiee- quarter pace. He la looking fresh and well. Tribou, Ua, and Kiwi were next sent twice round the sand at a nice steady pace, Elaine and Double were given three rounds at a good half- pace, lloscius was Indulged In a long and tteudy gallop of three times round, and was driven alODg for one more ciicnlt, The Shearer and Otairl were given useful exercise. Pesc3dor and Tally-ho pnt in long striding work. St. Anthony, Wlkotoria,and Recruit oantered four or five times round, A lot of the other horses wore trotted and exercised about the roads.
Mr Gollan's horses, Norton and Ebor, arrived in Hastings to day from Auckland,
