At the annual election of the school committee a large number of householders were present). The chairman (Mr Fail) read the report and balance sheet for tho year, which showed a credit baliiccQ of £10 15s. The election was then proceeded with, there beiog in all 18 persons nominated. The result was as follows:— G. Merritt 40, J. L. M'llroy ■10, F. Tucker 34, H. M'Phereon 31, J. liathie 27, Jaa. Thompson 25, C. 11, Alley 24, A. Fail 23, A. M caver -.ft, Thos. Kelly 23. The last three named polling tin equal number of vole?, Mr Weaver retired iv favor of Mr Fail. Mr J. P. Smith moved that a larger portion of the playgixu'id by set apart for the pirls. This matter will be brought before the next meeting. The newly-elected committee mefc to ftppoint a chairman, when Mr Fail was ruappointetl.
