THE ROTORUA SANATORIUM DESTROYED.

Wellington, Saturday.-. The Government have received the following telegram ironY Dr. Ginders, medical officer in charge at Rotorua:— - '" The sanatorium buildings and Maori hospital were totally destroyed by fire lfist night at 10.30. The patient* are nil right. Nothing was saved. The outbuildings, doctor's home, and blue bath are uninjured. The fire originated in the kitchen. The cause is unknown tit present. The southerly gale spread the fire with immense rapidity."

Auckland, Saturday. A Star correspondent states that by the turning of the Rotorua hospital' lnst night the Government loses £(3000. The patients were rescued with difficulty. One man broke his leg in escaping. A good water supply was available, but the fi re plug could not be found . Mrs Taylor, matron, and the patients lose heavily.
