LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Tuesday, December 20. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. LAND BILL. The report of the managers of the free conference on the Land Bill stated that a compromise had been arrived at to the effeofc that the Land Boards he left the same as under the existing Act. The reporb was agreed to. BILLS. The Government Railways Bill was read a third time and passed. The Otiigo Central .Railway Bill wa3 discharged from the order paper on the motion of Mr Millar, who undertook to draft a bill dealing with the subject during the recess. The Otago Harbor Board Bill was committed, reported, and passed through its final stages. The Pukekohe Borougli Bill was committed, reported, and passed tlnrongh all stages. The Wairarapa North County Council Empowering Bill was committed, reported with amendments, and passed The Fisheries Conservation Bill was read a first tune. The Council at 4.35 adjourned to 7.30.
