Tha Council resumed at 7.30. PILIfS, The Taraaki West Licensing BUI and the Public Reserves Bill were read a first time, the second reading being made an order for next day. MESSAGE FROM THE HOUSE. A message was received from the House, stating that the report of the free conference on "the Land Bill had been agreed to, and also that the Council's amendments in the Wellington College and Girls' High School Bill, and in the Uhristchurch District Drainage Bill and the Building Societies Bill had. been agreed *0. ..'■■;,, ADJOURNMENT. ,. . The Attorney-General said that there were several bills coming from the House,
but it would be a waste of time to wait for them.. He therefore proposed that they should adjourn to next day at 10.30. The motion was agreed to, and the Council-rose at 7.48.
