EGYPT.

(Received April 27, 2.20 a.m.) ™ Cairo, April 26. A report was prevalent to-day to the effect that diplomatic relations had been broken off between France and Egypt, but the announcement was premature. M. Canaille Barren, the French Minister at this Court, was actually instructed, however, by his Government to leave yesterday, failing satisfaction being afforded for the suppression of the Bosphore Egyptienne. His departure, however, has been postponed owing to negotiations for a compromise having been initiated, and it is now hoped that •-, i affairs are progressing in the direction of a peaceful solution of the difficulty.
