The winner of any handicap of the value of 300 soys. after the declaration of weights to carry lOlbs. extra ; of he value of 200 soys., to oarry 71bs. extra ; of the value of 100 soys., 51bs. extra ; penalties not accumulative. Distance, 2 miles. LADIES' PURSE, of 40 sots.; entrance, 3 soys.; welter weight for age ; gentlemen riders. Distance, 2 miles. DISTRICT PLATE, of 50 soys.; entrance, 4 soys.; for all horsos bred in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay that have never ■won an advertised race of 25 soys. No entrance will be received for any race except upon the following conditions : — That all disputes of whatever nature shall be decided br the majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint. Nominations for Hawke's Bay Cup, and Grand Handicap Hurdle Race to be made not later than 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 27th, 1879. Acceptances, by 10 p.m. on March Ist, 1880. Date of final payment for Hawke's Bay Cup, March 13th, 1880. Night of General Entry, February 26th, 1880. All entries, nominations, and acceptances must be addressed to the Secretary, Hawke's Bay Racing Club, Masonic Hotel, Napier, and sent in not later than 10 p.m. on tlie dates before mentioned, and to contain age and description of horses and colors of riders. N o entries will be received on any pretonce whatever after tlie hour named, or without being accompanied by tlie specified sum, and a qualification fee of 2 soys payable at time of entrance. The rules of the Hawke's Bay Raoing Club will be adhered to. Fivo per cent, will be deducted from all moneys won in accordance with the programme. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of tlie stakes ; if two start 75 per cent, of the stakoe. In tlie event of any person entering a protest, a sum of 5 soys. must be lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered.
