The Union s.s. Tararua, Captain Sinclair, left Wellington on the 20th, at 5 p.m., and experienced strong south-east winds -with very heavy sea, rnd arrived ab Napier on the 21st at 4 p.nv, and sailed for Gisborne and the JNortli at 7 p.m. The s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Helander, reports leaving Auckland on Wednesday last at' s p.m., and experienced fine weather to Poverty Bay ; from Poverty Bay strong south•winds, with heavy south-east sea. Went into Wan'gawelii for shelter at 6 p.m. on Friday, hut left again at 1 p.m. on the same night, a heavy 'south-east sea setting in, mating it •unsafe ; thence to Napier heavy south-west gale, and heavy south-east sea.
