A MONSTER CLAIMANT.

The Riverton correpondent of the Southland News has it on the best authoritythat a Yorkshirenian lays claim to all the land in the district, which he aaya ho purchased from that sanguinary old Canibal, Bloody Jack. It begins at Howel's point and runs along the coast westward for 20 miles, and inland for 10 miles. There seems to be sonic ground for the claim, for the deed of purchase or gift, or whatever it may be termed, ia properly drawn up and duly signed and registered in the land office', Sydney, and is dated three years prior to the purchases made in that part of New Zealand by Mr Commissioner Mantell. Bloody Jack passed it over to Mr Johny Jones, who in turn sold it to some one else, who passed it along 1 to some other body, who disposed of it to the Yorkahireinan who is at present asserting the claim.
