A NEW ZEALANDR AT ISANDULA.
• Among those who escaped from the massacre at Isandula was the son of an old Akaroa colonist, Captain Greaves, and he joined the 3rd Natal Contingent as a private. f Greaves was in the battle, where he displayed so much courage that he was promoted after his escape to the rank of captain. The young New Zealander is extremely highly spoken of, and regarded by his comrades as a rising young man.
