NAPIER WORKING MEN'S CLUB.

The third half-yearly general meeting of the club was held last evening at the Club-house. There was a very good attendance of, members. The retiring President, Mr Cox, was in the chair. We, the undersigned, having audited the books anil accounts of the Working Men's Club, hereby testify to the correctness of the same, and to the simple und efficient manner in which they have bean kept. Napier, 27th March, 1879. The President Napier Working afen's Club. The report was adopted without dissent. The President stated that several presents had been made to the club during the half-year, the principal being an atlas by Mr Locke, a horizontal bar by Mr Lumsden, and several valuable works . by Dr. Spencer. The election of officers for the ensuing I six months was then proceeded with. There were only two nominations for the oflice of President— Messrs. "ft. Williams and W. Hodgson. A ballot was taken, which resulted in favor of Mr Williams, -who was declared elected. Mr Wundram being the only candidate for the Treasurership he was declared duly elected. There were fifteen nominations for tlie committee, and as the number required was only ten, a ballot was taken, resulting in the election of the following gentlemen : — Messrs. Plowman, T. Bear, Shanley, Dean, Wootten, Davis, Leslie,: Briden, M'Dougall, and Steevens. Messrs. Garner and Bee were re-elec-ted auditors. The newly elected President thanked the members for the honor that had been conferred upon him.
