According to an Auckland paper, Messrs Hayes and Benhamo, who were lately performing in Napier, "have no cause to regret visiting Auckland, as they have put in one of the most successful seasons any circus troupe has experienced, having played here a whole month to good business. Now, therefore, I, George Walter Cullen, having been duly appointed the Returning Officer, by and before whom such Election shall be held, do hereby give notice that I have appointed the office of the Town Clerk, Napier, as the place, and Monday, the third day of February, 1870, aa the day, for the Nomination of Candidates ; and further notify that any persons desirous oi nonvnmV ing a candidate must, before noon of the said third day of February, cause to be addressed to me, 'and delivered at the said office of the Town Clerk, a nomination paper in the form prescribed by the "Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," stating the Christian name and surname of such candidate ; and such Domination paper must be signed by two Electors of the Borough of Napier, and by the Candidate himself in token of his assent to Buch nomination.
