The s.s. Taupo, Captain Andrew, anchored in our roadstead at 5 a.m. yesterday from Poverty Bay, Tauranga, and Auckland. She left the latter port at 5 p.m. on Thursday, the 4th instant, and arrived atTauranga at 6 a.m.. the next day ; left that port at 8.30 a.m. on the sth, for Gisborne, and arrived there at 7 a.m. on the 6th instant ; sailed again at 6 p.m., arriving as above. She experienced iine weather throughout the passage. The ketch Three Brothers went out about 4 o'clock in the morning, and on the arrival of the Taupo, went alongside and put 15 tons of cargo on board for Wellington, and then took in some 25 tons from the Taupo for this port. The Bella tendered her for passengers, which she brought ashore about 7 o'clock, and left the wharf with the outwards at 9 o'clock, the Taupo steaming for Wellington and Southern ports at 10.20 a.m. The s.s. Pretty Jane, Captain Carey, arrived from Poverty Bay shortly after 12 o'clock on Saturday night, experiencing fine weather throughout the trip. She will take in a cargo of sheep early on Tuesday morning, and is announced to leave for Wellington at noon the same day. The s.s. Manaia, Captain Petersen, was brought off the slip on Saturday afternoon, and brought alongside the breastwork to have her machinery put in order, which is expected to be finished this morning. The schooner Wild Wave has arrived from Lyttelton, and is now alongside one of the schooners at the breastwork waiting for a berth. She will commence her discharge this morning. The s.s. Result, Captain Baxter, returned from Wairoa on Friday, with a small cargo. On her way up. she landed a few miscellaneous goods at Pofcatu. The schooner Opotiki left the breastwork on Saturday morning with a part cargo transhipped from the Zior. The s.s. Mohaka, Captain R. Baxter, returned from Wairoa and Mohaka late on Friday evening, and will leave for the same port again this evening. The s.s. Rangatira, Captain Evans, is expected to leave Wellington for this port this afternoon, and will arrive here tomorrow, steaming for Poverty Bay at 5 p.m. the same day. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadley, Captain J. P. Balle, has got the most of her cargo out, and will finish this evening or early to-morrow morning. She is announced to leave for her old port, Hobart Town, oil Tuesday, at noon. All claims against the barque Adamant must be sent in by noon to-day. She will sail about Wednesday next. The ketch Venus, Captain King, left Auckland on Wednesday evening last for this port via Mercury Bay. She will bring 70 tons railway iron from Auckland, and 20,000 feet timber from Mercury Bay. The Auckland Star, of Thursday last, contains the following paragraph on the departure of the Hero on her 100 th passage : "A large number of persons assembled on the wharf to-day to witness the departure of the Hero, on her 100 th voyage from this port to Melbourne, and the scene was a very animated one. When the steamer was moving away from the wharf three lusty cheers were given by the assembled spectators for the Hero, her worthy skipper, and her officers. Captain Logan called for three cheers for Auckland and its citizens, and these were given by the crew and passengers, Captain Logan at the same time flourishing his helmet hat round his head. The vessel then steamed away, amidst wavings of handkerchiefs aud fond adieus between those on board the vessel and the crowd on the wharf." We notice by the time table of the Union Steamship Co., that passengers leaving here for Poverty Bay on Thursday by their boats from the South can return, after having one clear day at that port, by their boat from North on Saturday arriving here on Sunday morning.
