Port Chalmers, April 6. Sailed— Hawea. Passengers for Napier Mr and Mrs Johnson, Mr and Mrs Irvine, Mr and Mrs Raye, Messrs Main and Gibbald. Wanoanui, April 6. Mr Wallace was towed in by the steamer Murray, which was sent from Nelson. The Wallace left Nelson on Tuesday, and on Wednesday morning, when about 25 miles N.E. of Stechen's Island, it was found that the paddle shaft was injured and disconnected. She tried to proceed with one engine, and afterwards by sail. She got within four miles of Wanganui Heads, dropped anchor and signalled for assistance. She rode easily at anchor, and was towed in by the Murray. The Wallace will go back to Nelson for repairs.
