The p.s. Manaia, Captain Petersen, arrived from the Wairoa at a late hour on Sunday evening, with a large number of passengers, and a fair quantity of cargo. Capt. Petersen informs us that there was a very heavy sea rolling over the bar at the time of his departure for this port. He will leave again for the same port this evening. The s. 8. Fairy, Captain John Campbell, got away for the Coast yesterday morning with a full general cargo, consisting of station stores. The s.s. Pretty Jane, Captain Eccles, as we expected, did not get away for Auckland yesterday, owing to the cargo of life stock aot being ready tor her. She will leave to-day for the above port at noon. Another chance is offered to persons wishing to communicate with their friends at the Chatham Islands, by the schooner Island Lily, which vessel leaves Lyttelton abont Friday, the 22nd inst. The s.a. Eesult, Captain Baxter, left for the Wairoa at an early hour this morning, with a full general cargo. , The s.B. Kingarooma arrived at the Bluff at 5.50 p.m. on Sunday last with the Suez mail. The Napier portion, we have no doubt, will be brought on about Friday next , by the Taupo. The inward San Francisco mail is due at Auckland to-day, and taking into account the usual punctuality of these boats, we have no reason to doubt but they will be up to time.
