THE NAPIER POLICE.
Sir, — In reply to your article of the 9th insfc., I beg to inform you that while I was in the Napier police force, I made one complaint through my Inspector touching Sergeant White's verbal regulations. If that complaint has been forwarded to Wellington, I have received no notification of the fact, as according to the rules of the service I shoivhW-have. done. In about a week afterwards I made an application to the Inspector for a transfer from the Napier force. When I saw that the above was not attended to at the Inspector's office, I came to the conclusion that the channel was closed against me. I then spoke personally to Inspector Scully, informing him of the. grievance and application I had sent to him, and begged of him then to send me to another station. He (the Inspecto/f) refused to grant the request. — I am, &c, John Hollywood, Ex-Constable.
