Sir, — I shall feel obliged if you will kindly insert these few lines. 1 beliovo that some few days ago it was stated in your report of the proceedings at thu Resident Magistrate's Court that a certain individual of the same name as myself was brought before his Worship on tho charges of drunkenness and larceny. Now, sir, 1 desire to inform you that I have no connection with thu party above referred to in any way whatever, and, further, as it may tend materially to damage my character, both personally and in my calling, [ request you kindly to give this publicity, and oblige, — Yours, &c. , John Gamble, Plasterer, &c.
