We learn from Mr E. Ashton, the lessee of the Oddfellows' J-la.ll, that Messrs Baker and Farron will play a short season here, commencing on Tuesday evening, the Bth May. They aro at present playing in Wellington, and are highly spoken of. Mr John Hall and a burlesque company will succeed Messrs Baker and Farron, and it is probable, though not certain, that Mrs Scott-Sid-dons will be induced to give a few performances in Napier. A meeting of the ploughing match committee of the Agricultural Society will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Criterion Hotel.
