_ The agricultural statistics for the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay, compiled by the Superintendent Collector, Mr Samuel Begg, show the following totals for the two electoral districts of Olive and Napier : — Clive : Freehold holdings 220, rented 74, part freeh< >ld and part rented 43; total holdings, 34(j ; extent of land broken Tip, but not under crop, Gr>4o acres ; land in wheat (sown for grain only) 1.%];- acres, estimated gross produced 4177 bushels ; land in oats (for green food or hay 1338 i acres, land in oats (for grain) 1*229^ acres, estimated gross produce of grain 35,223 bushels ; land in barley (sown for grass only) 10H acres, estimated gross produce 2920 bushels ; land in hay 2192 [, estimated gross produce 2957 tons, land in grasses after having been broken tip (including such as in hay) 3«t, 5833,, land in grass not previously ploughed (including such as in hay) 100,919] acres : land in potatoes 2.j9j- acres, estimated gross produce 1462 J- ; land in other crops 204 acres ; total number of acres under crop (including sown grasses) 205,832 acres ; quantity of last year's crop remaining on hand when the" form was filled up 125 bushels wheat, 2370 bushels oats, 58 bushels barley. We learn from Mr E. Ashton, the lessee of the Oddfellows' J-la.ll, that Messrs Baker and Farron will play a short season here, commencing on Tuesday evening, the Bth May. They aro at present playing in Wellington, and are highly spoken of. Mr John Hall and a burlesque company will succeed Messrs Baker and Farron, and it is probable, though not certain, that Mrs Scott-Sid-dons will be induced to give a few performances in Napier. A meeting of the ploughing match committee of the Agricultural Society will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Criterion Hotel.
