The English telegrams, with which we this morning furnish our readers, are not of any general importance. There ♦are no wars or rumours of war, and very little of an exciting or even interesting character. For New Zealand there is good aud bad news. The former is the continued rise in wool, which, in the face of large importations, would seem to have materially advanced in price. . This will be good news this morning to our country readers. The bad news is of a political nature. The English ministry is said to.adhere to its policy that British troops shall not be employed in wars between colonists and natives. We did not, by the way, know before that this was the policy of the English government ; having always imagined that the retention or departure of the' last regihient was a mere question of ractney. . llow- . ever it appears that such is now; the J
