Arrival of the s.s. Rangatira.

The B.s. Rangatira, Captain Renner, arrived at Port Ahuriri, at 3 p.m. on the 3rd inst. She left Port Chalmers at 2 p.m. on the 28th ult , with a fresh S.W. breeze. During the middle and latter part of the passage, had light, variable winds and fine weather. Arrived at Lyttelton at 11.30 a.m. on the 29th ; left again at 6 p.m. on the 20th. Had strong head winds and high N.E. swell the greater part of the passage, and arrived at Wellington at 7.30 p.m. on. the 31st ; left Wellington at 1 p.m. on the 2nd inst., with a heavy N.W. gale, which continued until after rounding Cape Palliser. ' For the remainder of the passage had light northerly winds and fine weather, arriving at Port Ahuriri as above stated. She passed the p.s. Sturt off Cape Turnagain, on the morning of the 3rd inst.
