INQUEST.
An Inquest was held at Clyde Hotel, Wairpa, on Wednesday, the 25th June, before 8. Deighton, Esq., R.M., and Acting Coroner, to enquire into the circumstances attending the deaths of Andrew Schon and Gufltavus Reichardfc. The jury being sworn in, the following evidence was taken :-—
F.?F.iOrmond,, sworn, deposed :-rI am medical officor ,of the Wairoa district. I havo. seen the bodies now lying in tho re- , doubt. .JI recognise ;S.chon. I don't remember the other man. I have examined tho bodies. I can find no fracture on Schqu. His body is considerably bruised. .Tho other man has tho bon© over the right ( ,©y6 fractured. I attribute both the deaths to drowning. George $quiblo, private in tho armed constabulary, recognised the other body as that of Gus. He did not know his other name. He had seen him working on '.board the Grayling. [' . T. M. Oliver, corporal in the armed constabulary, deposed to having been ordered in charge of a fatigue party to bring the bbdifes to 'the township. Ho did not *r eedgniso' either of tho bodies. He found them lying on the beach..
