Flax Mills.— The Marlborough Express of the 15th says :— We are happy to say that this important industry will shortly be an established fact in Blenheim. My. j James Colrnan, of the Grove, has this week taken for a term of years the plot of land situate between Mr. Botham's and Dr. Home's. Tlio timber for the erection of the necessary buildings is, we believe, already ordered, and tho machinery, we are informed, will be here as soon as possi- ' ble. We most heartily wish him " God speed." It is also said that Mr. Leary of Picton intends to commence operations here shortly.
