WM. HHUNTER AND CO.'S REPORT To March 9.

Ok Monday at Newmarket, there was a large number of oattle penned. Dairy cows were plentiful, but of inferior quality, Store stook were in full supply. Fat cattle were scarcely equal to requiremeiits. The sheep market was well filled. For good quality beef there was great competition, and prices advanced 2s. 6d., per 1001 b. we have no advanoe in price of sheep to report. The following is a list of prices :— Dairy cows, from £10 10s to £13 17s 6d; 2 year-old heifers, from £5 2s 6d to £6 7a 6d j 2 year-old steers, from £5 103 to £7 s 3 year-old steers, from £8 to £9 Bs ; beef, from 37s 6d to 42s 6(1 per 1001 b; sheep fat halr-brede, from 12s to 21s 6d; lambs, from 8* 6d to 14s ; merino wetnersi from 9s to 18s 81 each.
