The stock market during the week has assumed a decidedly healthier tone than of late ; the bidding for fat stock being more spirited, prices realised were proportionately in advance. Provincial-fatted cattle sold at 47a to 40s, while Australian wore dis> posed of at 28s to 35s por 1001 b. For store cattle late rates are obtainable and no alteration to note. Dairy cows at calving are sought for and command good figure?. Fac sheep sold freely at 2s to 2s 6d per head more than procured during the past month. Store sheep were dull of sale at late quotations. Pat Cattle: On Wednesday our yards were well ati ended and all permed (G4 head) were soltf. TatSheoyj: On Wednesday 410 were penned and sold, bringing following rates ;-Ex Star of the South, monno wethers, Us 3d to 13s ; merino ewes, 7s to 8s; ex John Perm, merino wethers, 10s ; ex Rangatira, Southdown, cross, 12s to 17a ; provincial wethers, 17s to,lßs 6d, ewes 10s 6d.

Store Sheep : The demand is limited, and prioes lately quoted unchanged, ruling from 7s to 8s edper head.
