The greatest satisfaction is felt at the fall of Ngatepa, full accounts of which, from Colonel Whitmore and Mr. Richmond, were published yesterday. To-morrow His Excellency starts for the south in H.M.S. Challenger. He will be accompanied by Mete Kingi, Wi Tako, and Tamihana Rauparaba. Mr. Hall, who is now at Canterbury, will act as minister in attendance. His Excellency will probably not go to Dunedin until the Duke of Edinburgh's visit to that city. . ' Lady Bowen goes to Auckland to-mor-row by the s.s, Phcebe. H.M.S. Charybdis has gone to South America. The s.s. Rangatira will probably be employed to remove Colonel Whitmore and constabulary to Wanganui, in a few days, before the effect of Ngatepa dies away. Bruce, the Melbourne defaulter, after a month's remand on the charge of embezzlement, has been discharged here through an informality in the warrant, No steamer has arrived, bound for Panama, so no mail will be sent this month by that route.
