LONDON WOOL SALES.

The tbird series of London Colonial wool sales has been fixed to commence on Thursday, the 13 th of August. The following are the quantities arrived up to date:— s9,92o bales, Port Philip; 54,714 Sydney; 39,058 New Zealand; 9,628 Adelaide; 8,477 Van Diemen's Land; and 18,319 Cape — 190,116 bales in all. Further 20,000 bales may be expected to arrive in time, making the probable total 210,000 bales. There is not much spirit in buyers, but the trade is everywhere well employed, and, in the face of a good harvest all over the world, consumption may, towards the fall of the year, be expected to receive a new and more powerful impetus than it has experienced for the last couple of years. The closing prices of last sales will, under these circumstances, be probably firmly maintained. New Zealand and Australian securities generally have been strongly supported.
