llanto lag Herali SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 1868. HIS EXCELLENCY'S VISIT.

His Excellency the Governor, whose departure was fixed for the afternoon of Sunday last, has, through the severity of the storm which set in on that day, been detained in Napier till the present time. The weather, however, having moderated, His Excellency went on board the Sturt last evening, with the intention of proceeding to Wellington before morning. This detention, if a source of annoyance to the Governor (of which, however, he gave no indication) has been an advantage to the inhabitants generally, as giving them an opportunity of meeting the distinguished geutlemau (distinguished alike for courtesy, acquirements, and ability) who has been so recently appointed Governor of New Zealand. Sir George Bowen will carry with him the best wishes of the settlers of this district.
