It consists of 15 members. Mr. Collins has been appointed instructor ; and Capt. Withers has kindly consented to exercise supervision. A call will be made upon the public for a sum to be expended in the purchase of instruments, which we trust will be cheerfully responded to. Tiie Artesian Well has over and over again threatened to be a failure*, but Mr. Garry lias stuck to it- under all difficulties. The pipe is now, irretrievably bent at a depth of about 177 feet; but My. Garry, nothing daun ted, has drilled a he-Ie at the bend, with the view of driving an inch and quarter pipe through it to the bottom. Yesterday, a very fair flow of water came to the top, although j unfortunately, without the force it would have were the pipe fairly down upon the wafcer-bearii-jg stratum.
