We have to report that, on Saturday last, about 40 horses were brought forward, A good many were sold ; a few good hacks were sold at from £7 to £8. A four- wheeled dogcart sold for £14 ss. Newmarket Sale. — On Monday there was a large number of cattle brought forward. Dairy cows wero plentiful, and sold at from £9 to £12 10s ; backward springers, from £6 7s Gd to £8 10s ; two-year old steers, £4 12s 6d ; three-year-old steers, from £6 10s to £7 17s 6d ; two-year-old heifers, from £5 to 415 10s ; yearlings, from £2 10s to £3 ISs each. attendance of stockbreeders and others. The stock offered consisted chiefly of Merino and Leicester sheep, many of which were of a description not often to be met with in this market ; but buyers were not present in such foroe as on former occasions, neither was so much spirit evinced in bidding, and on the whole, the amount of business done did not come up to what might have been expected. We sold the Messrs. Katzenstein's imported German Merino rams, at 19 to 51 guineas. Several of the Messrs, Clapp's Spa-nish-Americans, at 20 to 31 guineas. Mr. Rich's Leicester rams at £6. Mr. W, A. Todd's year old hull, by Crofton, dam by Maori Jock, at £35. Messrs. Dodd and Thompson's prize oxen at £21 to £25. Mr. Hamilton's two handsome hacks, at £67 10s and £09 respectively, besides a large number of odd lots, which it is unnecessary to particularise.
