Although provincialist in feeling, we confess that the ultra-provincialist party in the House has not our sympathies. We trust that the independence of the provinces will be preserved, but this is not what the Yogel-Macandrew-Auckland party want. Their object is to increase the power of the larger provinces by swallowing up the, smaller, jThan this, we can conceive of no centralism more odious — . no injustice more unjust. Our columns are so crowded that we cannot enter into the subject ; and we can only say we are thaukful that the efforts of the ultra party have not, as yet, been crowned with any measure of success.
