The Betsey, outter, Trimmer, arrived in port on Tuesday last from Auokland and Wangapoa. Since leaving the latter port, she has experienced very bad weather indeed, having been blown out to sea twice while oil' the East Cape. While at anchor under shelter of Capo Runaway, on the 29th ult., sighted a steamer passing to the North, supposed to be the Star of the South, The Betsy left her anchorage on the 30th, arriving here as above. She.brings a full cargo of timber. The Lord Ashley, s.s., with the English mail via Panama on board, arrived in the roadstead on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Khe lef.t Port Chalmers on the 28th ult,, with strong head wind and thick weather, in consequence of which, on the 29tb, lay off Lyttelton until the SO.tb, when she ran in and anchored. Left same afternoon, and arrived in Wellington on •the morning of the Ist inst Steamed for this port on Tuesday, arriving here as aboyu. The Lord Ashley proceeded on. her voyage to Auckland the same evening, .having landed no cargo.

The Ringleader, outter, for Poverty Bay, Saucy Lass, schooner, and Tay, outter, for Auckland, left on Tuesday last. The Herald, schooner, and Hero, cutter, for Auckland, and Bittern, outter, for Meroury Bay and Auokland, left on Wednesday. m The Sucoessj schooner, for Anekland, -with a cargo of oattle, and the Tay, outter, in ballast, for same port, left on the 4th inst. The Star of the South is due this morning from Auokland. She will probably apprise us of the cause of the Taranaki's non-arrival, respecting which Borne apprehension prevails.
