IN pursuance of the provisions of an Aot of the General Assembly of New Zealand, j intituled " The Regulation of Eleotiona Aot, 1858," I, Thomas Tanner, Returning Officer for the Eleotoral Distriot of Hampden, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ bearing date the seventh day of February, 1867, issued under the hand of His Excellenoy the Governor and the seal of the Colony of New Zealand, an election will be held for the | return of one qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of the Province of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Mr. Matthews' Store, Hampden, on TUESDAY, 26th Maroh, and that the poll (if neoessary) will be taken on WEDNESDAY, the 27th Maroh, and that I will declare the result of the poll at olose thereof.
