Friday, January 18. (Before S. Deighton, Esq., R.M,, and James Fraser, Esq., R.M.) Stwley v. Karawia te Rai7ii,~A debt case. Judgment for plaintiff with costs. Elms v. MBricrty. — This was a charge of a most aggravated nature. The prisoner, a well known character, pleaded drunkenness in extenuation of his offence, but was informed by the Bench that the plea was an aggravation instead of a palliation. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labor, in the Napier Gaol. Monday, January 21. (Before the same Bench.) Sturley v. Gemmel. -Debt, £18 12s 7d. Settled out of court. Tola v. Reed— Debt, £2i 15s 2d. Settled out of court.
