Sales, however, bave not been extensive, having in most cases been limited to the supply of trade requirements. There is still little doing in flour fbr: local purposes, though quotations

are steadily maintained at £12 10s. for best town brands of Adelaide. Wheat continues to be moved off for shipment to England, a parcel of about 7000 bushels of Chilian having ohanged hands at 4s. 6d. net. Trade sales of barley are reported at 3s l^d.to 3s 3d. 1 Maize oan be obtained at 4s. Oilmen's meet with a ready sale. Dark blue has been sold .at 9£d, and blue starch at _£. An improved demand is experienced for teas. Trade sales are reported at 2s to 2s 6d duty paid, for medium to fine congous. We also learn of considerable parcels, amounting to about 700 paokages of medium to good medium qualities of congou, ex Tell, having been plaoed at satisfactory prices, The teas ex Sophie and Albert Victor are advertised to be offered for publio sale to-morrow. Patna rice is disposed of in small lots at up to £25, Inquiries for woolpacks have led to the sale of some thirty bales at 3s 4_d. In provisions we note sales of cheese at 12£ d. Chicory is saleable at 2|d., a figure realised for a shipment of Barry's. A parcel of Eleme raisins was quitted at 7d. In tobaccos, tens of fair quality are wanted at up to 15d. A shipment of 100 boxes Emu brand was placed on private terms. The first shipment of Orion twist, new tobaooo, has also come to hand by the Siam j the quality is very superior, and much liked. Sales have been made at Is sd. Calcutta leaf tobacco is quitted at 2d. In liquors, sales of Hennessy's pale bulk brandy have been made at 6s 9d. Holders of case Hennessey have of late become much stiffer. Sales have been made at 265, and there are no sellers under that price. Bottled ale of fine quality is asked for. A shipment of 520 barrels of Tennant's, to land, has been placed as high as 9s 6d ; on the other hand, sales of Morice Cox Sc Co.'s are mentioned at Bs. A parcel of Richards' was plaoed at a similar figure, The extremes of the market are thus seen, In salt, we note the sale of 400 tons, ex Donald Mackay (half coarse half fine), on terms withheld.
