The Dolphin, after a rather tedious passage, arrived in port on Tuesday last. She left Auckland on the evening of Friday the 24th ult., and anchored off Motu Tapuis-

land the same evening. Next morning she took on board the Leicester sheep and resumed her voyage. On Sunday the 26th had to put in to the Barrier from stress of weather, where she lay till the following "Wednesday— a strong N.E. gale blowing .'all that time. Left Tripnena on Wednesday, with wind light from N.E ; but it came on to blow strong the same night, and Gapt. Doughty had to take shelter in Mercury Harbour, where the i Dolphin remained, in company with the Albatross, Caroline, and Mavis, until the following Monday, when they all weighed together. It came on to blow strong from Eastward the same day and put back again — sailing finally on "Wednesday the sth inst., in company with the Pole Star and Planet. On the following day landed passengers and goods at Gape Runaway ; on Saturday landed goods and passengers at Hicks' Bay and also at "Waipu, and arrived off Portland Island the same night. On Sunday morning, the wind fresh from Southward, it increased towards evening to a strong gale. The schooner took shelter in "Whangawai, which she left on Monday morning, and made port next day. The Dolphin, as will be seen elsewhere, brings a valuable addition to the stock of the province. One ewe died during the passage. The Victoria, Capt. Kean, to sail to-night, will land sheep at Mahia, from which she will go on to Poverty Bay and ship cattle for the Auckland market.
