Mr T. Trask, senr. left Hawera today for a holiday at Waipukurau. Mr Hugo Freeth, editor of the Christchurch “Press,” was a visitor to Hawera at the week-end and was the guest of Mr M. J. Burns. Mr S. E. Nielson left New Plymouth on Saturday for Auckland en route to Sydney. He will return to New Plymouth in about three weeks. The funeral of Mrs Margaret St.vgles, who died at Hawera on Saturday, took place yesterday. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. A. J. Jamieson and there was a wealth of floral tributes. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. Kerrisk, T. Glynn, N. Boyle, T. Hogan, J. Kerrisk and J. Trilford.
