SALVATION ARMY ANNIVERSARY
CORIPS SOCIAL AT ELTHAM. DIVISIONAL COMMANDER’S ' . VISIT. (From Our Own Correspondent). Celebrations in connection with the 41st anniversary of the Eltham Salvation Army Corps were brought to a close on Wednesday evening when a social was well attended, Mr S. E. Carson being responsible for the entertainment-. The chair was occupied by Major Hildreth, Assistant Divisional Commander from Auckland, who- was paying his initial visit- in that capacity. Items were contributed as follow: Solos, Misses K, Butler, E. and G. Rankin, L. Carman, A. Wilson and Mrs J.’ A. Rankin; recitations, Miss Burrows and Miss Rankin; -solos, Mr D. Silver. The items rendered were of a high standard and were -thoroughl? appreciated by the largo -.ur'ience. At the conclusion of t.he programme Adjutant Smith expressed his appreciation of the assistance given in making the evening so successful
