MARZIPAN PIGS
These quaint little pigs are very eat. Make some marzipan from a amusing to make, and just as nice to recipe in a cookery book, and colour it pale pink with cochineal. Crumble some stale sponge cake and mix it to a stiff paste with raspberry jam, and if necessary a few drops of milk. Form into little balls. Flatten a piece of mafzipan and press a spongecake ball into the middle of it. Model little pigs, using blanched almonds for ears and legs, cloves for eyes, and thin strips of angelica for the tails. With a sharp knife cut out a piece from the nose to form the mouth. You will find that the pigs will stand quite well on their almond ‘ * legs.''
