BOY SCOUTS’ ASSOCIATION

SOUTH TARANAKI MEETING

At the quarterly meeting of the South Taranaki Boy Scouts’ Association at Eltliam, Commissioner P. W. Horner presided over an attendance of 32 representatives of South Taranaki troops. The commissioner advised the receipt of a letter from the chief commissioner asking that special prayers he offered by troops on behalf of the metropolitan commissioner for Auckland (Mr J. W Holdswortli), who was seriously ill. The chairman recommended that the request be acceded to and led the .meeting in a short intercessory prayer.

A welcome was extended to representatives of the newly-formed Nor-1 manby troop. The Rev. Cottoin, of j Manaia, invited the association to hold I the competitions at Manaia. The invitation was accepted, as it -was considered that the transport difficulties could be arranged by providing conveyances for any scouts or cubs arriving at Hal

wera by train. The question of a scouting publication or circular being issued to district troops at regular intervals was raised by Scoutmaster Blackman. The proposal was adopted on Scoutmaster K. Hopkins undertaking to arrange for a column of scouting news to be published in the press. ;
