After spending a month in Hawera Mrs L. O. Hooker lias returned to Auckland.
Mrs J. D. Tait returned at the weekend after paying a? brief visit to Petone.
Miss Ingles, who is matron at the Waipiikuiau sanatorium, spent last week-end in Hawera and was the guest of her sister, Miss Ingles, Camberwell Road.
Miss Lorna Chapman won the prize for the highest score, and Miss Monda Collins won a hidden number prize when the Misses- Sheila and Pat Lovell were hostesses at bridge on 'Wednesday afternoon. A model frock of forest green self-striped crepe de soie, with petal beige trimmings, was worn by Miss Sheila, Miss Pat choosing a smart frock of black silk marocain, with a black and white figured silk cowlnecked yoke. The players were Mesdames N. Douglas (Stratford), E. Hunter (Ararata), J. Sutton, C. S. Robb, Misses D. Mann (Stratford) Iv. Coleman, L. Chapman, M. Whittle (Stratford), H. Collins, J. Lennon, M. Hawken AI. McKenzie, J. Coleman (Stratford) M. Thomson, J. Hunter. ./ Tonks, M. Black, M. Collins and A Kemp. . . .
