Swiss Ball Ihe annual Swiss ball, held at Kaponga on Tuesday evening, was largely attended and visitors were welcomed from as far afield as Oaonui, New Plymouth and other parts of North and South Taranaki. The net result of the hall was in the vicinity of £43 and Father Harnett thanked the organisers. members of the orchestra and willing helpers for the splendid success they had achieved. The Swiss Orchestra comprised Alessrs A. Engelberger, F. Aleier and Airs Gopperth, whilst supper extras were played tby Mrs Sait, Miss Crowley, Air Parkes and Airs J. Battler. The hall was nicely adorned with greenery and Swiss flags and similar decorations were carried out in the supper room. Messrs G B. Guthrie and R. Bishop were masters of ceremonies. A waltzing competition was won by Mr and Airs Alc.Millan,,the competition being judged by Air C. L-ahey. A Swiss schottische competition was won by Air J. Kaiser and Airs Schonbochler with Mr F. Zimmerman and Aliss j Remold runners-up. Air AI. Steiner was the judge. Lucky numbered and paper hats were worn by Miss Heathe * and Air F. Chamberlain and three competitions were won by Messrs Chamberlain, J. Butler and J. Crowley respectively. A Alonto Carlo was won by Airs Bates and Air Edgecombe.
