HIBERNIANS

Annual Hawera Ball The annual ball of the Hawera branch of the Hibernian Society held iast night, was in every respect an outstanding success. The hall was crowded to capacity. The committee iiad done its work well, and nothing wnich would add to the pleasure of the [evening had been left undone. The decorations in the dancing hall were carried out in amber, blue and led streamers being looped to the walls from the centre. In the supper room, tile tables were decorated with yellow streamers and shamrock leaves, with Iceland poppies and greenery, which added considerably to the general attractiveness of the scheme of decoration. .Music for the dancing was supplied] >v -'iitcheli’s Orchestra, extras being played by Airs Attrill and Air It- Silver.

The large crowd included members of the Wellington and Taranaki Rugby teams, and visitors from all parts of the province. The Hibernian ball has become one of the social features of the season as far as Hawera is concerned and last night the reputauon of the annual function was worthily upheld.
