Virginia Bruce. Virginia Bruce, sensational new screen heroine, who in several. roles has come to the threshold of stardom, plays Trcnna Plaice, the actress, in Arthur Somers Roche’s “Shadow of Doubt,” which comes on Saturday and Monday to the Grand Theatre. She was born in Minneapolis, September 29, was on the stage with Marilyn Miller and other stars, came to pictures, retired to become the wife of John Gilbert, and recently returned to the screen to score triumphs in “The Mighty Barnurn,” “The Miracle Man” and “Society Doctor. ’ ’ Pursuit of the Gaur. Word has reached Hollywood from Calcutta that Frank Buck has again lived up to his international' reputation by cap.turing a record sized Royal Bengal tiger. The ferocious beast was roped and trussed up by Buck and was carried to his jungle base by natives, who tramped for 15 miles through forests with the growling beast strung on a carrying pole.
