DEFEAT OF WEST COAST. THIRTEEN GOALS TO NIL(By Tclegrapb—Tress Association.) GREYMOUTH, June 26-. An attendance of 3000 saw the India hockey team defeat West Coast by 13 goals to none in fine weather at Rugby Park, which was rather heavy lhc visitors thrilled the crowd witn brilliant attacking, Dbyan Chand and R«P Singh being especially prominent, while Masud, centre half, proved a master of positional play. Hussem was faultless as full-back and Wells centred admirably and combined clevery with Shahabuddin on the wing. India opened the scoring in the firstminute and was six up at half-time. Though more goals were scored in the second half West Coast shaped better, improving in combination, while its defence was probably better than the score suggests. The scorers we re: Dliyan Chand (6), Wells (4), Rnp Singh (2) and Shahabuddin. West Coast could not compare with the visitors m positional work. The India goalie was very seldom tested. The Coast goalie, Smith, was struck on the head by a shot from Dhyan Chand, but recovered. The outstanding Coast backs were Perrin, centre-half, who was tireless and clever and the Smiths, half and goalie. Tho best forwards were Fleming, Heaton and Morgan.
