FEDERAL CABINET MEETING
FIRST HELD AT PERTH MOVE TO CURE DEFECTS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). PERTH, June 25. Eight Federal Ministers accompanied: by 25 officials have arrived 'here to conduct the first Federal Cabinet meeting ever held at Perth. The acting-Prhne Minister, Dr. Earle Page, replying to a civic reception, said they had come to Western Australia on this occasion to try to learn where they might cure any defects that had unfortunately been apparent. “Western Australia’s progress since the federation has been phenomenal and I have every confidence in its future,” he added. Dr. Page announced that he was submitting a scheme for co-operation between the Commonwealth and the States in related activities conducted by the different Governments. It was an expansion of the loan council principle. He was proposing the formation of councils consisting of Ministers and departmental heads controlling different activities in order to develop the activities on a national basis.
