It is while she is looking at the romantic movies thrown on the screen that she conceives the good fairy ideas which give the name to the moving picture and provide a drama which has a tremendous amount of suspense, thrill and romance. The little usherette connives the idea that she could bo a rrood fairv to three different people and she is. in spite of tlio fact that •die has no money, no business to he impersonating 'Providence, and no way of backing up the promises she makes. However, it all comes out right m the end and the little usherette, who tried to help others, eventually earns a splendid reward for herself. GRAND THEATRE. “MURDER IN THE CLOUDS.” For genuine thrills, few pictures can equal the First National production, “Murder in the Clouds,” which was screened last night and will he presented finally tonight at the Grand Theatre. Spectators sat breathless and tense with suspense as daring aviators performed barrel rolls, Inimelnnuis. rolls-on-loop-tops, wing-overs, fish tails and other death defying stunts. The stunts, were not just interpolated into the picture, however, but all formed part of grisly battles high in the air. “Murder in the Clouds” is an unusual and baffling mystery drama, involving several strange murders in the air and the kidnapping of a beautiful girl by aeroplane. Lyle Talbot, Miss Dvorak and Gordon Westcott head the cast in a triangular romance, while others include Robert Light, George Cooper, Charles Wilson, Harry O’NeilY and Russell Hicks. The storv and ocrecn play are by Roy Chanslor and Dnre S chary. “RED HOT TYRES’’ AND “SECRET BRIDE.” Barbara Stanwyck comes to the Grand Theatre to-morrow and Monday evenings in her latest Warner Bros, production, “The Secret Bride,” which is said to he the most powerful and dynamic picture in which she has yet appeared. The picture, based on the play by Leonard Ide, is a thrilling drama of political plots and intrigues which involves two mysterious murders, a suicide and the impeachment of the governor of the State. There is a, talented cast playing in support of Miss Stanwyck, with Warren Milham in the leading role of her secret husband. Glenda Farrell as the wise cracking stenographer who is tried for the murder of her sweetheart and Douglas Dumbrille as the lover. •‘Red Hot Tyres,” First National romance of the automobile racing tracks, will bo screened at a matinee at thq Grand Theatre to-morrow at 2 p.m. and also to-morrow and Monday evenings. Based on a story by Tri.stain Tapper, the picture is a dynamic love drama that blossoms during thrilling auto races in which daredevi speedsters battle lor racing lionouis, and two of them fight at the same time for the hand of a beautiful gnl* Lyle Talbot heads the cast, which also includes Roseoe Earns.
