RIVER LEA JUNIORS WIN. (From Our Own Correspondent). The Manaia juniors played Riverlea at Mahaia. on Wednesday and the match resulted in a win for Riverlea by two goals to nil. On tho day>s play Riverlea were superior to Manaia. Both goals were scored in the 'first spell by D. Benton and R. Rothe. The second spell provided! much better hockey. Manaia were unlucky not to score on two occasions, the ball going over the net. For Riverlea D. Benton, R. Rothe and D. Gargan played exceptionally well, and for Manaia Sutter, M. Whalen, I. Hansen and D. Jones displayed good form. Messrs E. Thoumiuo and E. R.. Reilly controlled the game. MANAIA WOMEN WIN. The women’s match between Manaia and Otakeho was played at Manaia, Manaia winning by four goals to one. For Manaia Miss N. Gopperth scored all four goals and for Otakeho Miss A. Hughes was the scorer. The referees were Messrs Davies .and Reilly.
