Surprise Visit
An enjoyable surprise party was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs C. Evetts, Okaiawa, on Saturday evening to celeforajte the coming-off-age of their daughter, Miss Rona Evetts The evening was .spent in cards, games and dancing and euchre prizes were won by Mrs Hollis and! Mr 0. Blair. The supper table was beautifully arranged and a birthday cake, made and iced by Mrs. W. Johnston and decorated with 21 kewpios, held pride of place in its centre. After supper Mr Ray Wallis, on behalf of those present, asked Miss Evetts to accept the numerous gifts. In reply Miss Evetts thanked all the guests for their attendance artd thenkindness. She also thanked Mrs Johnston for the gift of the cake. Mr Evetts then presented his daughter with a largo golden key upon which the names of the guests were written. Among those present were Mesdames Jennings, Hollis, Good, Johnston, Baker, Houlahan, Bridgewood, Evetts, Brighouse (New Plymouth), Williams, Misses J. Joyce, Elsie Ward. \ . W 7 aid, D. Corbett, D.
