TAURAMAI’S GREAT AUTUMN HERITAGE WINS CHALLENGE TUIRAU TAKES TEMPLETON. (By Telegraph —Preea .Aiaoclatlan.j CHRISTCHURCH, April 23. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s autumn meeting concluded to-day in showery weather. The atfendance was fair and the course remained in good order throughout. The totalisator investments amounted to £21,089, compared with £21,610 last year. The total for the meeting was £53,115 10s, against £53,396 10s last. year. The concluding results are: —
GREAT AUTUMN HANDICAP. Of £6OO. One mile and a-half. 2-2 Tauramai, 5.5 (L. J. Kemal Pasha, Golden King, Minerval and Sea Fox were the early leaders, but going into the back the order was .Sea Fox, Ivemal Pasha, Silver Sight, Mi nerval, Haere Tonu, Cuddle, Golden King and Tauramai. Sea .Fox was three lengths clear of Kemal Pasha at the mile, with Minerval and Silver Sight next. The leaders were the same rounding the far turn. Sea Fox and Kemal Pasha still held command entering thjo straight, | with Minerval, Silver Sight, Cuddle and Tauramai next. Tauramai finished strongly, with Korero a head away. Cuddle was.fourth. Lady Zephyr led from Red Dance, Linguist, Patrole and Colombo. The order remained practically the same into the straight. Lady Zephyr was followed by Red Dance, Linguist, Colombo and Patrole. Red Dance took charge at the distance and w r on by a length from Colombo, with Linguist a similar distance away and Hot Stuff fourth. Time, 1.29. CHALLENGE STAKES. Of £4OO. Seven furlongs.
-12 Heritage, 7.1 (Pine) 1 3- Inflation, 9.1 (Broughton) 2 4- Variant, 8.11 (A. E. Ellis) 3 Also started: 5-5 Knockout 8.13 and, Bun Fight 7.4 (bracketed), 2-1 Kinnoull .7.7, 6-6 Greek .Shepherd 6.10. Variant led from Inflation, followed by Greek Shepherd, Heritage, Knockout, Kinnoull and Bun Fight. Coming to the home turn Variant led Inflation, with Heritage, Greek Shepherd and Kinnoull next. Heritage .finished strongly and beat Inflation By a head, with Variant a length away and Greek Shepherd fourth. Time, 1.28 1-5.

Capital arid Cranford were- the early leaders from Fair Weather, Silver Streak and Emissary. Cranford led on to the course proper from Fair Weather, Capital, Boyal Sceptre, Silver Streak and Tuirau. The lastnamed finished well and won by two lengths from Silver Streak, with Eebel Chief a length away and Fair Weather fourth. Time, 1.12.
