Women’s singles.—Miss Joan Hartigan. .(Australia) defeated Miss R. Smith, o—2, G—2. ~ Women’s doubles. —Misses Hartigau and Lawrence defeated Miss Bullock and Mrs Fpntes, 6—4, 10—-S. In the semi-final of the women’s singles at the touiinament Senorita Anita Lizana (Chilean) defeated Miss Stammers, 6—4, G—l. In the semi-final of the men’s doubles at Rome Bo rot ra. and Boussus defeated ... Turnbull and Quist 5—7, 7— 5, G —l, b—o. Miss -Hartigau is now the "singles champion of North England, both hard courts and grass courts.
